Shopping for the best air purifier in india in October 2026? Here is the thing most buying guides skip: the “covers 690 sq ft” claim on the box assumes your purifier barely cycles the room’s air once or twice an hour. For Diwali smog and stubble-burning season — Diwali falls on Sunday, 8 November 2026 — you want 4–5 full air changes per hour, and that cuts every coverage claim on this page to roughly a third of what’s printed. The short answer: buy the Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite at ₹10,999 if you want the best-verified all-rounder (4.4★ from 2,459 ratings, 360 m³/h CADR); pick the Philips AC0920/60 at ₹8,499 for quiet bedrooms; or take the Qubo Q600 at ₹13,990 if you want the most clean air per rupee (450 m³/h CADR).
We live-verified 10 air purifiers on Flipkart India on 8 October 2026 — all in stock, from ₹6,999 (Mijia 4 Compact) to ₹17,999 (Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6). What the “covers X sq ft” numbers really mean
Coverage claims are the most inflated numbers in this category, so let’s do the honest math first — it changes how you read every pick below. CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) is the volume of filtered air a purifier delivers per hour. For a typical Indian room with a 10-ft ceiling, one full air change needs roughly 0.28 m³/h of CADR per sq ft — so 4–5 air changes per hour (what you want on a severe-smog day) needs about 1.4 m³/h of CADR per sq ft of room. A 150 sq ft bedroom therefore needs roughly 210 m³/h of CADR for proper smog-day purification.
Philips itself publishes this sliding scale: its official FAQ for the AC0920/60 says the same 250 m³/h machine “covers” 320 sq ft at 3.5 air changes per hour (its “fastest purification” recommendation), 700 sq ft at 1.6 ACH, and 1,119 sq ft at 1 ACH. The “690 sq ft” in the Flipkart title is the ~1.6 ACH figure — fine for a mild day, thin for Diwali week. Our rule: divide any claimed coverage by 3 and you’ll land near the 4–5 ACH room size. The “Realistic room” column in the table below does exactly that math for each pick.
The three things that actually separate the picks:
1. CADR is the only number that can’t be fudged. Coverage in sq ft is a marketing derivation; CADR in m³/h is the measured output. Compare CADR first, coverage second. The Eureka Forbes Smart 500’s 500 m³/h and the Qubo Q600’s 450 m³/h are in a different league from the Sharp J30M’s 180 m³/h — the price gap suddenly makes sense.
2. “HEPA” is not one thing. Honeywell’s V2, the Qubo Q600 and the Eureka Forbes 500 use True HEPA H13 (the graded standard). Philips uses its own NanoProtect HEPA (99.97% at 0.003 microns — finer than the 0.3-micron HEPA benchmark, but a proprietary grade). Xiaomi and Mijia say “high-efficiency filter” without a grade. None of these are the same claim, so we label each exactly as its maker does.
3. Filters are the subscription you didn’t sign up for. Replacement filters typically run ₹2,000–5,000 a year (per industry buying guides), and filter life varies wildly: up to 2 years on the Sharp J30M, 9,000 hours (~a year of heavy use) on the Honeywell V2 and Qubo Q600. Check the replacement filter’s price before you buy the purifier — the cheapest machine can become the most expensive one.
Comparison Table: all 10 picks at a glance

| Qubo Q600 | ₹13,990 | 4.2★ / 1,751 | 450 m³/h | 600 sq ft | ~320 sq ft |
| Philips AC1711/63 | ₹14,549 | 4.3★ / 379 (thin) | 300 m³/h | 830 sq ft | ~210 sq ft |
| Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact | ₹6,999 | 4.3★ / 21 (thin) | 230 m³/h | 400 sq ft | ~160 sq ft |
| Sharp FP-J30M-BK | ₹7,886 | not shown | 180 m³/h | 250 sq ft | ~130 sq ft |
| KENT Aura | ₹9,300 | 3.9★ / 1,083 | 183 m³/h | 270 sq ft | ~130 sq ft |
| Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 | ₹17,999 | 4.3★ / 21 (thin) | 443 m³/h | 940 sq ft | ~320 sq ft |
| Eureka Forbes Smart Air Purifier 500 | ₹14,778 | 3.7★ / 9 (very thin) | 500 m³/h | 670 sq ft | ~360 sq ft |
*Realistic room = our estimate for 4–5 air changes per hour in a 10-ft-ceiling room (CADR ÷ 1.4), versus the manufacturer’s claimed coverage. “Thin” ratings = fewer than 400 ratings — treat the average with caution. Spec details are manufacturer-stated where we found official pages, retailer-stated otherwise — see Sources.
1. Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite — ₹10,999

The Xiaomi Smart Air Purifier 4 Lite is our overall pick for the best air purifier in india: 360 m³/h CADR (official Xiaomi spec) — the strongest airflow under ₹11,000 — backed by 4.4 stars from 2,459 ratings, the largest verified review base on this list. Xiaomi’s official page states 269–463 sq ft effective coverage (the Flipkart title’s “640 sq ft” is listing inflation — our 4–5 ACH math puts it at ~250 sq ft, still the best in its price band). The 33.4dB night mode is genuinely bedroom-quiet, and you get the full smart package: Xiaomi Home app, Alexa/Google voice control, laser PM2.5 sensor with real-time display, and temperature/humidity readings. TÜV Rheinland Allergy Care certification covers the allergy claim. At ₹10,999 (27% off MRP ₹14,999), reintroduced in India in September 2026, this is fresh stock of a proven model. Bank offer at verification: ₹550 off with the Flipkart Axis Bank credit card (₹10,449).
Key Features
- 360 m³/h particle CADR; 269–463 sq ft official coverage (mi.com)

- 33.4dB night mode; laser PM2.5 sensor; temp/humidity display
- Xiaomi Home app + Alexa/Google Assistant voice control; TÜV Rheinland Allergy Care certified
Pros

Cons
- Warranty period not stated on the Flipkart listing — confirm at checkout
- Flipkart’s “640 sq ft” coverage claim exceeds Xiaomi’s own 463 sq ft figure
- 4.8kg — not the machine you’ll move between rooms daily
Who should buy it: Most buyers — bedrooms and living rooms up to ~250 sq ft who want the best-verified mix of airflow, quiet operation and smart features.
Price: ₹10,999 — verified live 8 Oct 2026
2. Philips AC0920/60 — ₹8,499

The Philips AC0920/60 is the best pick under ₹9,000 — and the quietest sleeper on this list. Its 250 m³/h CADR is official Philips spec, and Philips’ own FAQ gives the honest coverage picture: 320 sq ft at 3.5 air changes per hour (its “fastest purification” recommendation) — the “690 sq ft” in the Flipkart title is the ~1.6 ACH figure, so read it as a mild-day number. What sets it apart: the AeraSense PM2.5 sensor with a real-time AQI display (no app needed), auto mode that adjusts to detected pollution, and a 20.5dB sleep mode — quieter than a whisper, among the lowest sleep noise here. The 2-layer NanoProtect HEPA captures 99.97% of particles down to 0.003 microns (finer than the 0.3-micron HEPA benchmark). Philips backs it with a 2-year warranty, and 4.4 stars from 1,337 ratings is a solid trust base. Bank offer: ₹425 off with Flipkart Axis Bank credit card (₹8,074).
Key Features
- 250 m³/h CADR; 30 m² (~320 sq ft) at 3.5 ACH per Philips’ own FAQ
- 2-layer NanoProtect HEPA: 99.97% at 0.003 microns; AeraSense PM2.5 sensor with real-time AQI display
- 20.5dB sleep mode / 49.5dB max; 21W power; auto + sleep + manual modes
- 2-year Philips warranty; replacement filter FY0900/30 (up to 1-year life)
Pros
- 20.5dB sleep mode — among the quietest here, ideal for bedrooms
- Real-time AQI display with no app or Wi-Fi needed — simple by design
- 2-year warranty and 1,337 ratings at 4.4★ — strong trust signals
Cons
- No app or voice control — on-device buttons only
- Flipkart’s “690 sq ft” coverage is the 1.6-ACH figure; realistic smog-day room is ~180 sq ft
- 250 m³/h CADR can’t stretch to living rooms — bedrooms and studies only
Who should buy it: Bedroom buyers who want the quietest, simplest purifier with a real AQI readout — and don’t care about apps.
Price: ₹8,499 — verified live 8 Oct 2026
3. Honeywell Air Touch V2 — ₹9,149

The Honeywell Air Touch V2 is the allergy pick: it’s one of only three purifiers here with a graded H13 HEPA filter, layered with a nano-silver antibacterial filter, activated carbon and a pre-filter. CADR is 250 m³/h with 388 sq ft claimed coverage (~180 sq ft at 4–5 ACH). The real-time PM2.5 indicator, 3D front-and-upward airflow, and sleep mode with 1/2/4/8-hour timer cover the essentials, and the 9,000-hour (~1 year) filter life is stated up front. 4.2 stars from 2,213 ratings is the second-largest review base on this list, and traders list a 2-year manufacturer warranty. One honesty note: we could not locate an official Honeywell India spec page for the V2, so the specs above are retailer-listed (Flipkart + IndiaMART trader listings) — the H13 grade and 250 CADR are consistent across them. Bank offer: ₹458 off with Flipkart Axis Bank credit card (₹8,691).
Key Features
- 250 m³/h CADR; 388 sq ft claimed coverage; 5 air changes/hour (retailer-listed)
- H13 HEPA + nano-silver antibacterial + activated carbon + pre-filter; removes 99.99% of micro-allergens incl. PM0.1/PM2.5
- Real-time PM2.5 indicator; 3D airflow; sleep timer; filter-reset indicator; 9,000-hr filter life
- 32.5dB low / 47.5dB high; 47W; 2-year warranty (trader-listed)
Pros
- Genuine H13 HEPA grade plus an antibacterial layer — the strongest filtration story under ₹10,000
- 2,213 ratings at 4.2★ — a deep, battle-tested review base
- 2-year warranty and a stated 9,000-hour filter life
Cons
- 47.5dB on high is loud — you’ll live in auto/low mode
- No app or Wi-Fi — and no official Honeywell India spec page to cross-check against
- 250 m³/h limits it to bedrooms at smog-day air-change rates
Who should buy it: Allergy and asthma sufferers who want graded H13 filtration under ₹10,000 and trust a big review base over smart features.
Price: ₹9,149 — verified live 8 Oct 2026
4. Qubo Q600 — ₹13,990

The Qubo Q600 delivers the most clean air per rupee on this list: 450 m³/h CADR (official Qubo spec) for ₹13,990 — that’s 32 m³/h per thousand rupees, against 33 for the Xiaomi 4 Lite and just 21 for the Philips AC1711. Qubo is the Hero Group’s smart-home brand, and the specs are officially published: 600 sq ft claimed coverage (~320 sq ft at 4–5 ACH), True HEPA 13 in a 5-in-1 filter (pre + HEPA + activated carbon + anti-bacteria), a 9,000-hour filter life, DC motor, dust sensor, and app + voice control. 4.2 stars from 1,751 ratings is a healthy base, and the “Hot Deal” tag plus 44% off MRP (₹24,990) makes it the value flagship of the mid-range. The trade-off is noise: 55dB max is the loudest specified figure here outside the Eureka Forbes 500 — run it on auto, not turbo, in living spaces. 1-year official warranty. Bank offer: ₹700 off with Flipkart Axis Bank credit card (₹13,290).
Key Features
- 450 m³/h CADR; 600 sq ft claimed coverage (quboworld.com)
- 5-in-1 filter: True HEPA 13 + pre + activated carbon + anti-bacteria; 9,000-hr filter life
- DC motor; 45W; dust sensor; app + voice control; 55dB max noise
- 1-year Qubo warranty; 5.2kg
Pros
- Best CADR-per-rupee on the list — 450 m³/h at ₹13,990
- Officially published specs (no coverage-figure games from the brand side)
- Hero Group backing with app + voice control and a 9,000-hour filter
Cons
- 55dB max noise — loud on turbo; auto mode is the realistic setting
- 5.2kg — a stays-where-you-put-it machine
- 1-year warranty is the shortest standard term here
Who should buy it: Buyers who want maximum airflow under ₹14,000 for a living room — and will run it on auto rather than turbo.
Price: ₹13,990 — verified live 8 Oct 2026
5. Philips AC1711/63 — ₹14,549

The Philips AC1711/63 is the step-up Philips: 300 m³/h CADR with 3-layer NanoProtect HEPA filtration and the AeraSense PM2.5 sensor, officially rated for rooms up to 36 m² (~387 sq ft) — against the Flipkart title’s “830 sq ft”, which is the low-ACH figure. Philips claims it purifies “in under 10 mins” (for an unspecified room size — treat that as marketing, not math). At ₹14,549 (14% off MRP ₹16,995) with 4.3 stars from 379 ratings, it’s the thinnest-reviewed Philips here, and the value math is awkward: the Qubo Q600 gives you 450 m³/h for ₹559 less. You’re paying for the Philips badge, the 3-layer filter stack, and Philips’ standard 2-year warranty — fair reasons, but go in with eyes open. Bank offer: ₹728 off with Flipkart Axis Bank credit card (₹13,821).
Key Features
- 300 m³/h CADR; up to 36 m² (~387 sq ft) official coverage
- 3-layer HEPA NanoProtect filtration; AeraSense PM2.5 sensor; compact design
- 2-year Philips warranty (brand standard)
Pros
- More CADR than the AC0920 with the same trusted NanoProtect + AeraSense package
- 3-layer filtration vs the AC0920’s 2-layer
- Philips 2-year warranty
Cons
- Only 379 ratings — the thinnest Philips review base here; read before buying
- Weak CADR-per-rupee: the Qubo Q600 offers 50% more CADR for less money
- “830 sq ft” claimed coverage is the low-ACH figure; realistic smog-day room is ~210 sq ft
Who should buy it: Philips loyalists who want more power than the AC0920 and value the brand’s warranty and filter ecosystem over raw CADR-per-rupee.
Price: ₹14,549 — verified live 8 Oct 2026
6. Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact — ₹6,999

The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact is the cheapest way into clean air on this list: ₹6,999 with a “Big Billion Days Price” tag (42% off MRP ₹11,999). Launched in India in September 2026, it packs 230 m³/h CADR and 400 sq ft claimed coverage (~160 sq ft at 4–5 ACH) into a small 2.2kg cube, with a 20dB sleep mode — joint-quietest here — 3-in-1 filtration with TÜV Rheinland Allergy Care certification, and Xiaomi Home app + Alexa/Google voice control. The catch is trust: with only 21 ratings since its September launch, there is essentially no buyer track record yet — you’re buying on Xiaomi’s spec sheet and the 1-year replacement warranty, not on reviews. Bank offer: ₹350 off with Flipkart Axis Bank credit card (₹6,649).
Key Features
- 230 m³/h CADR; 400+ sq ft claimed coverage
- 3-in-1 filtration (99.97% at 0.3 microns); TÜV Rheinland Allergy Care certified
- 20dB sleep mode; app + voice control; real-time filter-usage display; 2.2kg
- 1-year replacement warranty (listing-stated)
Pros
- Cheapest pick at ₹6,999 — and already sale-tagged
- 20dB sleep mode — joint-quietest on the list
- App + voice control at a price where rivals offer neither
Cons
- Only 21 ratings — effectively no verified buyer base; treat the 4.3★ as noise
- 230 m³/h suits small bedrooms only — don’t buy it for a living room
- Launched September 2026 — long-term filter costs unknown
Who should buy it: Budget bedroom buyers comfortable buying on specs — but only for rooms up to ~160 sq ft.
Price: ₹6,999 — verified live 8 Oct 2026
7. Sharp FP-J30M-BK — ₹7,886

The Sharp FP-J30M-BK is the specialist’s pick: Sharp’s patented Plasmacluster ion technology (certified by labs including IIT Delhi and the British Allergy Foundation, per Sharp) works alongside a True HEPA filter and active carbon filter — ions tackle odours, bacteria and viruses in the air while the HEPA handles particles. Official Sharp India specs: 180 m³/h CADR (high), 250 sq ft coverage, modes from Haze to High, 44/36/23dB noise, and — the standout — filter life up to 2 years, the longest on this list, which makes it the cheapest purifier to own over time. At ₹7,886 (52% off MRP ₹16,490) it’s a lot of technology for the money. Two honest flags: no ratings are shown on the Flipkart listing, so you’re buying on Sharp’s brand and specs; and there’s a warranty conflict — Sharp India states 1-year onsite while the Flipkart listing advertises 2 years comprehensive. Confirm the warranty in writing before buying. Bank offers: ₹789 off with HDFC credit/debit (₹7,097) or ₹395 off with Flipkart Axis.
Key Features
- Plasmacluster Ion Generator + True HEPA + active carbon filter (Sharp India official)
- 180/120/60 m³/h CADR (high/med/low); 250 sq ft coverage; Haze/Low/Medium/High modes
- Filter life up to 2 years (official) — longest here; auto-restart; 4.2kg
- 44/36/23dB noise; 50/30/13W power
Pros
- Plasmacluster ion tech — the only ion-based purification here, lab-certified
- 2-year filter life means the lowest running cost on the list
- 52% off MRP — ₹7,886 for Sharp’s core technology stack
Cons
- No ratings shown on the listing — zero buyer evidence to lean on
- Warranty conflict: Sharp India says 1-year onsite, Flipkart says 2-year comprehensive — confirm before buying
- 180 m³/h is the lowest CADR here — small rooms only (~130 sq ft at 5 ACH)
Who should buy it: Small-room buyers who value low running costs and Sharp’s ion technology — after confirming the warranty terms.
Price: ₹7,886 — verified live 8 Oct 2026
8. KENT Aura — ₹9,300

The KENT Aura is the honest-spec budget pick: KENT’s official page states 183 m³/h CADR and “up to 270 sq ft” coverage — no 600-sq-ft fantasy, just the real number (our math agrees: ~130 sq ft at 5 ACH). The 3-stage system pairs a primary filter and activated carbon with an antibacterial-coated HEPA filter, plus an in-built ionizer, air-quality sensor, filter-change indicator and child lock. KENT is India’s RO giant with arguably the deepest service network of any brand here, and the purifier carries a 1-year official warranty. The rating is the wrinkle: 3.9★ from 1,083 ratings is the lowest average on this list — a real base, but read the reviews before buying. The listing also flagged “only few left” at verification, and it carries a “Big Billion Days Price” tag at ₹9,300 (42% off MRP ₹15,990). KENT publishes no noise figures, so bedroom-quiet is unconfirmed. Bank offers: ₹930 off with HDFC credit/debit (₹8,370) or ₹465 off with Flipkart Axis.
Key Features
- 183 m³/h CADR; up to 270 sq ft coverage (kent.co.in official)
- Antibacterial-coated HEPA + activated carbon + primary filter; in-built ionizer
- Air-quality sensor; filter-change indicator; child lock; 45W; 5kg
- 1-year KENT warranty
Pros
- Officially honest coverage figure — no inflated sq-ft claim
- KENT’s nationwide service network is the deepest here
- Ionizer + air-quality sensor + child lock at ₹9,300
Cons
- 3.9★ average is the lowest on the list — read reviews before buying
- “Only few left” stock flag at verification — may sell out in the sale
- KENT publishes no noise figures — quiet operation unconfirmed
Who should buy it: Buyers who trust KENT’s service network and want honest specs for a bedroom — if the reviews read well.
Price: ₹9,300 — verified live 8 Oct 2026
9. Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 — ₹17,999

The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is the large-room pick: 443 m³/h CADR with 5-stage filtration, 940 sq ft claimed coverage (~320 sq ft at 4–5 ACH), and the only PM1.0 monitor on this list alongside the usual PM2.5 sensing. Launched in India in September 2026 at ₹19,999, it’s already down to ₹17,999 live (28% off MRP ₹24,999) — early-adopter pricing is moving fast. You get app + voice control, real-time filter-usage tracking and a 1-year replacement warranty. The caveat is the same as its little sibling: 21 ratings since launch means essentially no buyer track record — at ₹17,999, that’s a real leap of faith, softened only by the launch-price drop and Xiaomi’s ecosystem. Bank offer: ₹900 off with Flipkart Axis Bank credit card (₹17,099).
Key Features
- 443 m³/h CADR; 940 sq ft claimed coverage
- 5-stage high-efficiency filtration; PM1.0 + PM2.5 monitoring (AQI display)
- App + voice control; real-time filter usage; UV-C + negative ion functions (launch specs)
- 1-year replacement warranty (listing-stated)
Pros
- Highest coverage claim and second-highest CADR on the list — built for large spaces
- PM1.0 monitoring — unique here
- Already ₹2,000 under launch price within a month
Cons
- Only 21 ratings — unproven at the list’s highest price
- ₹17,999 is a leap of faith without a review base; consider the Qubo Q600 (450 CADR, 1,751 ratings) instead
Who should buy it: Large living rooms and open-plan spaces where a single unit must cover serious square footage — and you’re comfortable buying on launch specs.
Price: ₹17,999 — verified live 8 Oct 2026
10. Eureka Forbes Smart Air Purifier 500 — ₹14,778

The Eureka Forbes Smart Air Purifier 500 has the highest CADR on this list — 500 m³/h — with 670 sq ft claimed coverage (~360 sq ft at 4–5 ACH), True HEPA H13 plus plasma filtration, Wi-Fi with app control, 12 fan speeds, a PM2.5 digital display, VOC colour indicator and AI auto mode. It’s also the most feature-loaded purifier here, at ₹14,778 with a “Big Billion Days Price” tag (47% off MRP ₹28,000). Now the honest part: 3.7★ from just 9 ratings is the thinnest, weakest trust signal on this list — effectively unproven — and 66dB max noise makes it the loudest purifier here by a wide margin. Don’t buy this on ratings; buy it on the spec sheet and on Eureka Forbes’ service network, which is the deepest appliance network in India. The user manual states a 1-year comprehensive warranty. Bank offers: ₹1,250 off with HDFC credit/debit (₹13,528) or ₹739 off with Flipkart Axis.
Key Features
- 500 m³/h CADR — highest on this list; 670 sq ft claimed coverage
- 4-stage: pre + activated carbon + True HEPA H13 + plasma filtration
- Wi-Fi + app; 12 fan speeds; PM2.5 display; VOC indicator; AI mode; child lock; sleep mode
- 66dB max noise; 45W; 6.3kg; 1-year comprehensive warranty (user manual)
Pros
- Highest CADR here — 500 m³/h for ₹14,778
- Plasma + H13 filtration with the most features (app, VOC, 12 speeds, AI mode)
- Eureka Forbes’ unmatched Indian service network
Cons
- 3.7★ from only 9 ratings — effectively no verified buyer base; treat the average as noise
- 66dB max noise — the loudest purifier on this list by far
- Spec details are retailer-listed; no official Eureka Forbes spec page found
Who should buy it: Spec-sheet buyers who want maximum CADR and trust the Eureka Forbes service network — not buyers who need a proven review base.
Price: ₹14,778 — verified live 8 Oct 2026
Models we checked and dropped
For transparency: the Philips AC0819/20 is discontinued per Philips’ own India page and isn’t listed on Flipkart (only the AC0920, AC1711 and AC3221 are). The Mi Smart Air Purifier 4 (non-lite) isn’t listed — only the 4 Lite and the two new Mijia models. The Agaro Royal HEPA isn’t on Flipkart (only the Agaro Regal, a different model). Dr Trust Home, Atlanta Healthcare Beta 350 and Blue Star AP700DAI have no Flipkart listings (only the Blue Star BS-AP300DAI at ₹10,490, a different model). The Honeywell Air Touch V3 and Qubo Q200 weren’t needed since their siblings (V2, Q600) verified in stock. Also spotted but not verified: the Philips AC3221/63 (₹23,995) and Honeywell Air Touch V5 (₹11,500) — not included without full verification.
How we picked these (methodology)
- Live verification, not old prices: every price, rating, rating count and stock status above was checked live on Flipkart on 8 October 2026, on the eve of the Big Billion Days sale. Research-stage snapshots were never published as facts.
- Flipkart only — stated openly: all 10 picks are Flipkart listings because our affiliate partner EarnKaro currently earns on Flipkart (Amazon India approval is still pending), so every Buy Now link actually supports the site. Models available only on Amazon were excluded rather than linked non-earning.
- Manufacturer claims vs retailer claims: specs are credited to their source — official Philips, Xiaomi, Sharp, Qubo and KENT pages where found; Flipkart and trader listings where not (Honeywell V2, Eureka Forbes 500). Where the listing didn’t state something, we say so instead of guessing.
- Coverage, recomputed: manufacturer “sq ft” claims assume 1–3 air changes per hour. We recomputed a realistic room size for 4–5 ACH (CADR ÷ 1.4) for every pick — the “Realistic room” column — because that’s what Diwali-week air demands.
- Ratings as trust signals: we weighed both the star average and the review count. A 3.7 with 9 ratings (Eureka Forbes 500) tells you almost nothing; a 4.4 with 2,459 (Xiaomi 4 Lite) tells you a great deal. Thin bases are flagged in the table and in each section.
- No hands-on testing: we did not physically test these purifiers. This guide is built on verified live data, official manufacturer specs where available, and buyer-rating evidence — and it says where evidence is thin.
FAQs
What CADR do I need for my room?
For a typical Indian room with a 10-ft ceiling, you need roughly 1.4 m³/h of CADR per sq ft of room for 4–5 air changes per hour — the rate that actually handles smog-season air. A 150 sq ft bedroom needs ~210 m³/h; a 300 sq ft living room needs ~420 m³/h. On mild-pollution days you can get away with less, but size for the worst week (Diwali + stubble burning), not the average one.
Is a ₹7,000 air purifier worse than a ₹18,000 one?
Not necessarily — it’s usually smaller. The ₹6,999 Mijia 4 Compact (230 m³/h) will clean a bedroom as well as the ₹17,999 Mijia 6 (443 m³/h) cleans a large living room — CADR matched to room size is what matters. The premium buys coverage, features (app, VOC sensing, PM1.0) and brand service — not cleaner air per cubic metre.
How often do filters need replacing, and what does it cost?
Philips’ purifiers calculate filter life intelligently (the AC0920’s FY0900/30 lasts up to a year); Honeywell rates the V2’s filter at 9,000 hours (~a year of heavy use); Qubo claims 9,000 hours for the Q600; Sharp claims up to 2 years for the J30M. Industry buying guides put annual filter costs at roughly ₹2,000–5,000 depending on brand — check the replacement filter’s price before you buy the purifier.
Will an air purifier actually help during Diwali smog?
Yes for indoor PM2.5 — HEPA filtration is genuinely effective against fine particles, which is what smog is mostly made of. But three conditions apply: size the CADR for 4–5 air changes (see the math above), keep windows and doors closed while it runs, and don’t expect it to fix outdoor air. On severe-AQI days, run it on a higher speed than usual.
Do I need Wi-Fi and app control?
It’s convenience, not purification. The Xiaomi 4 Lite, both Mijias, the Qubo Q600 and the Eureka Forbes 500 have app control; the Philips AC0920 and Sharp J30M deliberately don’t — on-device buttons only. If you just want clean air in a bedroom, the app adds nothing.
